The unlawful gold mine within the district of Solok collapsed after a landslide on Thursday night because of heavy rain, stated Irwan Efendi, the top of the provincial catastrophe company.
Rescuers should trek eight hours to get to the location, which is inaccessible by highway, Irwan informed Reuters, including, “The victims are the residents who manually mine for gold.”
He estimated there have been most likely 25 individuals within the mine on the time of the incident, of whom 15 died, whereas three had been injured and 7 are lacking.
Police and navy launched a search early on Friday for the lacking, together with steps to evacuate the lifeless.
