“The Porgera gold mine has suspended the vast majority of its operations till 19 September for the safety of its staff whereas the federal government restores legislation and order within the surrounding area,” a spokesperson mentioned in an announcement late on Tuesday.
Two of its staff had been killed within the violence, the spokesperson added.
