Lynas, the world’s largest uncommon earths producer exterior China, stated on Friday that it has a contract with BHP Nickel West over the provision of sulphuric acid to its Kalgoorlie rare- earth facility in Western Australia from both the Kalgoorlie nickel smelter or different sources.
BHP’s choice to close down mining at its Kalgoorlie nickel smelter, amongst others, would trigger a disruption within the acid provide to Lynas’ Kalgoorlie facility.
The uncommon earths producer, nonetheless added that the mining behemoth has assured Lynas of its potential to “utilizing affordable efforts” to provide imported acid to Lynas.
