Zambia has quickly shut its borders with the Democratic Republic of Congo, the federal government mentioned on the weekend, in a transfer that would delay exports from Africa’s greatest copper producer.
“We’ve got determined to take precautions that we seal the borders for now,” Chipoka Mulenga, Zambia’s Minister of Commerce, Commerce and Trade, mentioned in feedback broadcast over state-owned ZNBC Saturday night time. “We could begin experiencing a build-up of vans.”
